GMAT

Adam is taking the GMAT on Saturday. Wish him luck! He has been studying SO hard and I am really hoping that he will get the score he wants- so keep him in your prayers this week. In a few months we will know where we are going to be this fall for his Grad school.

I am very excited about our prospects of where we might be going, but it could mean a big move. So we are living in limbo a little right now, but whatever happens will be for the best and wherever he gets accepted, I know it will be good for us.

Tomorrow is my first big test on Art history, so let me give you a review of what I have been studying.
Above is a picture of "Musicians and Dancers". It is significant because it is one of the first times in The New Kingdom in the Egyptian Era that we see a difference from the canon pose. We see movement, energy, and a frontal view of a person where in the past we only saw a composite view where you can see the profile and the frontal view to help us know what the image is. This is dated back to 1400 BCE.
These are the great pyramids at Gizeh. The smallest of the Pyramids is actually the oldest because each Pharoah wanted to build a larger tomb than the last. The Egyptians are known for the incredible technology in architecture because not only did the pyramids not collapse, each of the squares is a perfect right angle and the 4 corners are facing the 4 cardinal points.

Well that is probably enough, but that is what I've been thinking about lately!

Art history is one class I never took. I'm not sure I'd like to take it for a grade, but someday it might be a fun class to audit.
