Accepted!

Adam has heard back from 2 more schools since our last school update and we couldn't be happier!!!! He was accepted at:

University of Utah, Utah State University, and Georgia state!!!

I am so excited and so proud of him. He rocks.

We are still waiting to hear back from University of Tennessee and BYU, so keep your fingers crossed!

LONDON - Days 5 & 6

Days 5 & 6, our last full days in London, took us to the Windsor Castle, Piccadilly Circus, Cabinet War Rooms (the headquarters of the British in WWII), British Library, Platform 9 3/4, and the play Oliver. Everything was really awesome and we couldn't have asked for a better trip with better company.

LONDON - Day 4

Our 4th day, Sunday, in London started out with a great testimony meeting at the local London ward. After church we were off to see more ancient stuff as we visited the British Museum. It is probably the biggest museum I have ever seen and Jessie's favorite spot (as she is taking an art history class). Most of us reached brain overload fairly quickly with the museum's numerous exhibits of ancient artifacts and art. We all appreciated it but probably not fully for what it really is (except for Jessie who is taking the art history class) because our lack of knowledge and understanding of what we were really seeing.

After the British museum we headed over to Westminster Abbey for an evening service and to see Parliament and Big Ben. All of these buildings cannot be fully appreciated until you have seen them up close and in person. The intricacies of the Gothic period are so detailed and beautiful. You could probably spend close to a life-time studying these buildings and all of their minor details. The service at Westminster was really cool in that the Abbey is mostly seen as a historical site and tourist attraction but we were able to see it for its real and intended purpose: a church and religious sanctuary. I think seeing it still being used (for hundreds of years) as a church made us appreciate it even more.

LONDON - Day 3

Day 3 in London started out with a trip to Portobello Road, walking through all the shops where Abbi and Jessi were able to find some souvenirs they were looking for. Following that we went to St. Paul's Cathedral where we had an audio tour and climbed somewhere around a bazillion steps to reach the top of the cathedral to see an awesome view of the city. After surviving the steps down we went to the Borough Market downtown and had Lunch amid the other thousand people visiting the market. Being well fed, we left the market and headed back over the London Bridge, with a nice view of the Tower Bridge, and headed to the Tower of London. We took the free tour by one of the cool guides and then spent the rest of the early evening seeing all the sites in the ancient castle towers and buildings. Another awesome day in the books in London!

LONDON - Day 2 (More Pictures)

LONDON - Day 2

Day 2 in London was started off by heading to Buckingham Palace walking through a portion of beautiful Hyde Park. We arrived just in time to see the changing of the guard which was pretty cool. After the changing had taken place we wandered around a bit and took a million pictures. After we had our quota of pictures it was decided to cross the street and get a little closer to the Palace. We were stopped on the corner by some police officers that were blocking pedestrians and traffic in all directions for what seemed like no purpose. After a couple minutes of standing there with people getting a little frustrated for not being able to cross the road, two SUV Range Rovers came driving out of the palace gates and we were able to see why everyone had been stopped - The Queen of England was in the back seat of the first SUV! We were literally no farther than 20 feet away from the Queen on our first full day in London.

After that we headed over to Trafalgar square, took a million more pictures, and then headed in the National Gallery. Lots of cool paintings and stuff by the greatest artists our world has ever known; pretty cool stuff! After our legs were thoroughly tired from standing and walking around we crossed the street over to the St. Martins In-the-Fields church for a concert and then ate lunch down in the crypt area. We spent the night at another concert in Royal Albert Hall. What a fabulous day in London!

LONDON - Day 1

The travel to London went well and we arrived tired but ready to have fun seeing the sites and spending time with family. We met my mom at BYU's London center and later met up with Audra, Abbi, and Jessi at our hotel. The rest of the day was spent taking a walk around Hyde Park and visiting St. Paul's Cathedral.
