Swamp Boat
This past March we got to go to Florida to spend time with family. We got to go to Disney World as well as Universal Orlando to see The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Before we left we also got to go on a cool swamp cruise. It was a beautiful day and we got to see some baby alligators. Thanks mom and dad for the tickets!
Florida in March 2 of 2
The first day Adam was there we went to Harry Potter Land at Universal Studios.
Of course we had to get Butterbeer- which tastes like butterscotch (YUM!) and Pumpkin Juice (YUM)!Ian was chosen during the wand demonstration to "choose his wand"!
Overall Harry Potter land was so fun! It was magical and fun to think about the books and movies while we were there. The details were amazing, but I think they need to make it bigger and even more intricate. I felt like they could and should make an entire theme park about Harry Potter, but the rides and atmosphere were excellent!
The next day we headed back to Magic Kingdom.
Dustin was pretty tired...
It was so fun to hang out with my parents and watch the fireworks!
No trip to Disney is complete without watching the Electrical parade at night!
Here is our Mug shot from the Buzz Lightyear ride! As you can see- its serious stuff when you are in there :)
Florida in March 1 of 2
In March, we went with my family to Florida! I went down before Adam because he only had a few days off for school, but it was so fun! The first day I was there, I got to hang out with Tara & her kiddos at a hotel and the next day we went to Disney's animal kingdom. It was so fun! I was 5 months along so some of the fast rides I skipped, or I wore a baggy shirt to hide my tummy :)
At Epcot there was an HGTV Garden festival going on and they had really neat garden decor and a butterfly pavilion.
I used to be able to fit between those bars, but when i tried to get through, my belly prevented me :)
That night at Magic Kingdom, My Dad, Kensie & I rode the Buzz Lightyear ride over & Over & Over right before it closed! It was so fun! The Buzz Lightyear ride is my Dad's favorite ride- you have a "laser gun" and shoot aliens and get points. Somehow along the way I found some hot targets that gave me a lot of points and we maxed out the points multiple times!
I Love the Toy Story ride at Hollywood studios!
I remember going to this Beauty & the Beast musical when I was little & I loved it!

At Hollywood Studios! This is one of the best roller coasters at Disney.
My ankles were so fat by the end of the day! I also ate like 5 meals a day while we were there to keep up with all of the walking!
Nashville Temple trip
In June, we traveled to Nashville for a temple trip that we planned as a Relief Society presidency. We call it the Women in White temple trip, and Josie put a lot of work into planning it. We made the Temple blocks above using a picture i took and had a lunch before our session.
Monica, Josie & i were in the Relief Society Presidency together, and our friend Sheena (who was in YW)
I was a little nervous about making it through the session because I was about 37 weeks along but it was totally fine. I was released from the Presidency shortly after, but I felt like it was such a good way to depart. It was a wonderful trip and I felt the spirit so strongly. It gave me a lot of peace as i was preparing to have Alec soon & gave me confidence in being a Mom and a renewed testimony in the importance of families.

Summer Baseball
This past summer Adam interned with a company in Knoxville and they treated us to a fun night at the Smokies Baseball game. It wasn't too hot, but I was still able to retire to the air conditioned suite which was nice because a week later we had Alec!
2 months
I never posted Alec's 2 month picture (and now that he is nearing 4 months) here it is! He is such a cutie.
Alec at 2 months:
- Loves to hold onto his thumbs (as shown in picture)
- Crosses his feet (also shown in picture)
- Weighed in at 23 inches and 11 lbs.
- We love his smiles!
- Likes the bath tub, but for some reason didn't like it when we washed his hair.
- Still has a stellar leg kick (used when both happy and angry)
- Working on his double chin
- Working on his double chin
- Great night sleeper
-Still loves staring at his Zebra stuffed animal
- Pretty good at tummy time, but gets tired after holding up his neck for so long!
- Likes his bouncy seat
-Went on his first plane ride to Colorado with Mom for a week & did AMAZING!
- Still a little gassy, but Gripe water and tummy massages did wonders.
We love this little guy!
